What is an Air Coupling?
Air couplings are used for air pressure connections. Think of a tanker truck that needs to be emptied as quickly as possible. Air pressure is connected to the top of the tanker truck, and this way, the liquid is pushed down by means of air pressure.
Different Types of Claw Couplings
There are many different types of air couplings. For example, you have claw couplings with tails that are galvanized steel. Or claw couplings with internal threads or external threads.
There is also an Express coupling. The Express coupling is a symmetrical quick coupling with claws and is connected by pressing and twisting two half couplings together. This Express coupling is made of brass.
To seal something off, you can use a blind cap.
At Techniparts, we also sell the brand LÜDECKE. The LÜDECKE coupling is one of the best couplings in the field of air couplings and quick coupling systems.
They use high-quality materials (brass, steel, stainless steel) Robust, reliable, tight, and durable Easy to disconnect Many different sizes, connections, and valve types Energy-efficient quick couplings
For all air couplings, the following applies: Total compatibility with other brands that have the same distance between the claws.
Different Materials for Air Couplings
Air couplings come in different types of materials. There are claw couplings made of galvanized steel, hardened steel, and you have stainless steel claw couplings.
Air couplings that are galvanized in steel are generally lower-priced and suitable for dry applications. Pneumatic couplings made of hardened steel are often more durable but also generally more expensive. Stainless steel couplings are even higher in price but are very durable and have good chemical resistance to many chemicals. Brass is often a cheaper type of metal. It has bactericidal properties and is therefore suitable for use in the food industry. Furthermore, it is resistant to moist conditions and does not rust. Brass is easy to maintain and easy to recycle, making it particularly durable.
