The AQMOS R2D2-48 is an advanced water softener with a housing featuring a removable lid. It contains a GRP pressure vessel filled with high-quality ion-exchange resin. The housing doubles as a salt reservoir for 3-4 months (max. 35 kg salt) and is equipped with a volume-controlled BNT 1650 valve mounted on the vessel. Designed for households up to 7 people, it softens up to 4800 liters of water per regeneration cycle at 10°dH water hardness.
The electronic BNT 1650 valve monitors soft water consumption via an integrated water meter. Regeneration starts at 2:00 AM after reaching the preset volume. A reserve capacity ensures lime-free water beyond the set limit.
The ion-exchange resin, charged with sodium ions, swaps calcium and magnesium ions in hard water for sodium ions, producing soft water. The resin has a lifespan of over 20 years.
When saturated, the resin regenerates automatically with a salt solution (sodium chloride). Calcium and magnesium ions are flushed out via a separate drain, and the resin is recharged with sodium ions. A bypass provides untreated water during regeneration.
If no soft water is used (e.g., during vacation), a mandatory regeneration occurs on day 10 to prevent resin contamination.
One salt fill (max. 35 kg) lasts 3-4 months, depending on water hardness and consumption. A safety float valve with a buoy prevents overflow.
