What is a Fitt Ikon hose?

A Fitt Ikon hose is one that is very lightweight and can expand up to twice its own length. When water flows through the hose, it expands and stretches out. When the water is out of the hose, it returns to its original length. The internal diameter of the hose is 9mm. The working pressure of the hose ranges from 1 to 4 bar. The burst pressure of the hose is from 16 to 18 bar. The Fitt Ikon hoses are also ozone and UV resistant on the outside.

Fittings

The hose comes with matching fittings. You will receive 1 Gardena x 3/4 Female Threaded Tap Fitting and 2 Gardena Female Thread Quick Couplings to prevent unwanted splashing. You will also receive a multifunctional spray gun. With the included fittings and spray gun, the Fitt Ikon is ready for use!

Material

The Fitt Ikon hose is developed with the help of a specific thermoplastic elastomer material. Thanks to a unique technology in the production process, the hose is made to be 4 times lighter and 3 times more compact than traditional garden hoses. This makes the hose highly revolutionary. Furthermore, the hose is the only expandable hose on the market made from a layered extrusion process with TPE and exclusive knitted PP reinforcement. The Fitt Ikon hose is suitable for contact with food, and the hose complies with European regulations similar to AREACh and RoHS.

Use

A Fitt Ikon hose is not suitable for use in a sprinkler system or on a reel. This is because the hose stretches when water flows through it. When you start using the hose, it's better to pressurize the hose first so that it can stretch out, allowing you to use the hose optimally. If the hose is not used for an extended period, it's better to close the water tap and open the spray gun. Avoid rubbing the Fitt Ikon against particularly sharp edges too much, as this can cause the hose to wear out more quickly and reduce its lifespan.
