The MannTek Industrial Safety Breakaway coupling, identified by part number N210D4401, serves as the "weakest link" in a transfer line to prevent costly equipment damage and environmental contamination. This specific model is the "Industrial Version," widely used for fluid transfer in industrial process plants, road and rail tankers, ISO containers, and the petrochemical industry.
The coupling is equipped with three external breaking bolts. If the transfer line is subjected to an inadvertent and strong tensile load, such as a tanker driving away prematurely or a ship drifting, the bolts break at a defined force. Upon breaking, the coupling separates into two halves, and internal valves instantly seal both open ends to prevent leaks. A key feature is the ability to release at any pull angle up to 90 degrees, providing maximum protection in various industrial scenarios.
Body Material: High-quality Stainless Steel 1.4408 (AISI 316) for optimal durability and chemical resistance.
Nominal Diameter: DN 50 (2") with 2" BSP female threaded connections according to EN ISO 228.
O-Rings: Fitted with Viton (FKM) seals, suitable for operating temperatures between $-20^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ and $+200^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$.
Pressure Ratings: Maximum working pressure of 25 bar, a test pressure of 37.5 bar, and a minimum burst pressure of 125 bar.
Certifications: Fulfills the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) category 2 and is approved for use in ATEX zone 1. It is also cleared for the transport of dangerous goods by road (ADR), rail (RID), and ship (IMDG).
Thanks to its robust design, the N210D4401 can be inspected and reassembled on-site after a separation event using a set of spare breaking bolts, without the need for special tools.
