The MannTek N414M4401 is an essential safety component for critical fluid transfer in demanding environments. This Safety Breakaway Coupling (SBC), designed in the robust Marine Version, is specifically engineered to serve as the "weak link" in a hose or loading arm system. This prevents damage to expensive equipment and avoids hazardous leaks in the event of unforeseen tensile loads.
Unlike the industrial variant, the Marine Version of the N414M4401 is optimized for maritime conditions. The coupling offers increased resistance to torsion and bending loads to prevent accidental activation caused by wave action or ship movement. However, when the tensile load exceeds a pre-defined limit for example, due to a ship drifting the three external breaking bolts snap. The coupling then splits, and both ends are immediately hermetically sealed.
